"A fixture of research and development throughout Cleveland's experimental scene and following their debut LP "Endless Coil" on the infamous Tusco/Embassy imprint, "Nocturnal People" finds Machine Listener only further refining their tools to journey deeper through the depths of ambient soundcape, presented here as two 20 minute movements. It entails shimmering drones and a slowly building low end, showcasing Machine Listener's talents in sound design and pacing, as our sense of time slips further and further away from us, brought back to the present only by the silence of the piece's end. Far more than the sum of it's parts, "Nocturnal People" should be experienced in one sitting through and through, as overcast clouds and the backdrops of the billboards along I-71 slowly but surely fade away."
